You are in Italy and there is no better way to get to know the culture than trying some typical food and beverage!
Eating, in Sardinia, means family, tradition and plates of typical Sardinian cuisine, much like in the rest of central and southern Italy; a reason to spend time with your dear ones, to laugh and tell the latest news, sometimes even a chance to discuss and argue in pure Italian style.
Your tasks for this activity are all related to food and drink, and for that, there’s no better place to roam through in Cagliari than the historical neighborhood of Marina: one of the 4 historical districts of the city centre, Marina (also called Lapola) overlooks the main harbour and used to be the place that all dock workers and seamen called their home. Originally built in the 13th Century as a hub for trading and stocking goods, in time it grew to become a true landmark for tourists, with its abundance and variety of typical restaurants and souvenir shops.
For this activity, you can start from Via Roma and navigate through the winding streets going up toward Bastione di Saint Remy and Piazza Yenne, or do the opposite and explore the area going down toward the sea.
We recommend the use of Google Maps for finding your way.
Hint: if you don’t have internet access through your phone’s mobile data, turn on your wi-fi and look for “Free Wi-Fi Ca” network. Much of the city centre is covered by this open wi-fi network that allows you to navigate for 3 consecutive hours for free by just accepting their terms and conditions.
You’ll have to complete at least 2 of the 3 listed tasks in order to claim your badge.
