Cultural Explorer

The Cultural Explorer badge marks the beginning of my journey into understanding and appreciating the rich cultural heritage of the region where I'm volunteering.
This badge reflects my efforts to explore and connect with local culture through its historical landmarks and artistic expressions.
I had to accomplish at least 1 out of 2 tasks to earn this badge and evidence was reviewed and confirmed by my mentor.
The badge is part of the Achievements Programme for the European Solidarity Corps.

Tasks

Task no.1

It is time for a walk and sightseeing. Culture can be observed and explored through objects and places of cultural importance.
Go out and find 5 historical/ cultural monuments or places important for the region you are living in as a volunteer. Your goal is to read or ask people and understand WHY those places are important for the local community. Who were the people or events that his place is linked to?
Take photos of those 5 places, upload them here and provide a brief description of why those places are important.
The task is completed after the mentor confirms your evidence.

Task no.2

Discover the art and crafts unique to the region where you're volunteering. This could involve traditional handicrafts, local art styles, or specific crafting techniques.
Visit a local craftsman's workshop, an art gallery showcasing regional artists, or a market where local artisans sell their work. If there is an opportunity, engage with an artisan or artist to learn about the techniques, materials, and stories behind their craft.
Take photos of the artwork or crafts. Upload these photos along with a brief write-up about what you learned.
The task is completed after the mentor confirms your evidence.
