Cultural Master

You have to get all badges from the list below
The Cultural Master badge recognises my engagement and advanced understanding of the local culture where I'm volunteering.
This badge represents my ability to express, reflect on, and challenge my cultural experiences and perceptions.
To achieve this badge, I completed at least 3 out of 4 tasks linked to the Cultural Expression competence.
Evidence was reviewed and confirmed by my mentor.
The badge is part of the Achievements Programme for the European Solidarity Corps.
Tasks
Task no.1
Issued by organiser or scanning QR code
Your volunteering gallery. You most probably already took quite a few photos from your volunteering experience. Why not share some of those with the wider group of people?
You can use www.padlet.com or any other digital tool of your choice to upload photos, arrange them in any order you wish, and add brief comments about what those photos are about or what they mean to you.
Alternatively, it can be short videos or your own drawings or sketches from your experience.
Be careful about photos with other people in there, and do not share them if they do not consent.
For the evidence, share a link to your created digital gallery of volunteering here.
The task is completed after the mentor confirms your evidence.
Task no.2
Issued by organiser or scanning QR code
Your emotions and experiences through digital art. Describe what is your experience so far and how do you feel when volunteering and living in this community.
Feed that description to one of the AI Image generating tools like Midjourney, Dall-E 3 or similar.
You can use these simple guidelines to create a prompt for creating digital art based on your experience. You can create even several images.
Upload the image you managed to generate and share how does that digital art reflects your experience of volunteering
The task is complete after the mentor confirms your evidence.
Task no.3
Issued by organiser or scanning QR code
Cultural expression through books or movies. Ask local people for recommendations of the book or a movie, which would help you to understand local culture better. You can also pay a visit to a local library and check if they have some local culture-related books in the language that you can read.
After reading the book or watching a movie, share your reflection here:
-> What was it about?
-> What new things did you discover about the local culture?
-> What is your favourite ways of cultural expression?
The task is completed after the mentor confirms your evidence.
Task no.4
Issued by organiser or scanning QR code
While spending more time in the hosting country, you already heard various stereotypes about local people. And perhaps you had some stereotypes too.
Now think of your intercultural experiences so far and share what stereotypes you broke - what cultural traits did not surface and did not match the stereotype?
Also, share what does help you to overcome some cultural prejudices? What activities enable to look deeper and realise the uniqueness of people you meet?
The task is completed after the mentor confirms your evidence.
